About K9CRAZY
K9CRAZY has been serving the Seattle and Eastside
area since 1992. Maggie Lane-Gonty, Owner and
Instructor has been actively training dogs for 16+ years
using a gentle, positive, reward based method. Maggie's
training philosophy is that every dog and their family is
different and unique.
" I match the training style to the unique needs of each
dog and family. I have 2 goals for your dog: First is to
have your dog become an asset to your home not a
liability. Second, is for each dog/human relationship to
establish a line of communication between them so that
they remain together the rest of that dog's life.
Training is the line of communication. To establish this I
train you to train your dog. I do not just train your dog
for an hour each week and leave. You live with your dog
24/7, not me, so it is you that must be the leader and
trainer while I'm not there giving you your lesson. It is
my job to give you the tools/training for a life time of
leadership. Dogs thrive on strong leaders!
Dogs usually have it together from the start, it's the
human end of the leash that I work with the
most....and that's my specialty!
I believe in keeping our lessons together fun and
engaging. Dogs have a naturally wonderful sense of
humor and I have adopted that philosophy of fun in my
teaching as well...ask any of my clients. Play is a very
important part of learning for dogs and I use that in our
lessons as well."

Maggie was born and raised a Midwest girl with animals
of all kinds in her life from the age of 5 years old.
Studying the behavior of dogs began as early as 10
years old. She is a college graduate with a BA in
Communications. Maggie is a registered Therapy Dogs
Inc, Handler as well as a member of the APDT. Maggie
also apprenticed as an assistant instructor at Positive
Dog Training for 2 years in 1993 & 1994.
She has attended numerous seminars on nutrition for
dogs and cats to keep her clients informed on the best
choices for theirs pets. She is also the Seattle area
Demo Coordinator for Nature's Variety Pet Foods.
"I remember going to the animal shelter with my family
to get our first family dog "Nellie". She was 1 year old
when we adopted her and she lived with us until her last
day at 19 years old. She was a true friend. She is
never forgotten. I have had so many canine and feline
friends in my life that I can't remember there ever
being a time without them. They have taught me so
many valuable lessons and they continue to do so.
I have been in the Seattle region for 20 years now
actively training the dogs (and their people) of this
beautiful area and making life long friends along the
way. I continue to learn new things from the dogs and
people I meet in each new family I train with, as I pass
along my knowledge to them."

"Corny as this sounds there was an

What an amazing creature!"

residents at a local nursing home

Kendall is always greeted with
smiles and warm greetings as she
works her way from room to
room. Employees also benefit
from her visits as well.
To do this type of
work your dog must
show no fear of
objects such as sliding
doors, wheel chairs,
canes, objects that
drop from a distance
ie; tin pans, glasses.
Your dog must also
know several
commands and follow
them with no
hesitation. Most of
all, your dogs
temperment must be
stable.
Prior to arriving your
dog must be bathed
and nails trimmed and
filed every time. It's
a lot of work but the
reward is well worth it!
Dexter AKA: Doodles is like a
member of my own pack. I have
watched this little "ham" grow up
and blossom into the most
talented, loving, amazing dog you
can imagine.
His pack mate Willow is absolutely
a gem as well. Those two are a
riot together!
Tucker will always
be in my heart.
A very special
rescue dog that
wiggled his way into
many a heart and
has found his
forever home
finally. What a
good boy he is!
